Clinical psychiatry and preoperative counseling require immense trust and identity consistency. Osler targets the high-stakes domain of breast cancer surgery, acting as a voice-based virtual medical consultation agent at Asan Medical Center to support critical patient history-taking.
The Architectural Orchestration
Architected a low-latency, voice-based LLM pipeline utilizing the OpenAI Realtime API. Orchestrated an NLP pipeline integrated directly with a medical knowledge base and HIPAA-compliant data processing to maintain strict identity consistency and accuracy during personalized surgical counseling.
The Deployment & Scale
Deployed as a fully functioning real-time voice recognition prototype for a prospective clinical pilot study, engaging with patients the day before surgery.
The Empirical Evaluation
Conducting rigorous mixed-methods evaluation to measure changes in comprehension, satisfaction, and anxiety compared to standard face-to-face counseling, validating the AI's trustworthiness in a clinical setting.
